COLOR MATCHING
Yes! We offer professional color matching services. Bring in your vehicle's paint code (found on the door jamb sticker), VIN number, or a paint chip sample and our team will mix an exact match. We match colors for all major makes including GM, Ford, Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep, Toyota, Lexus, and Subaru.
Your paint code is usually on a sticker inside the driver's door jamb. It may be labeled "Paint," "Color," or "EXT" depending on the manufacturer. You can also find it in your owner's manual or by searching your VIN online. Not sure? Call us at (313) 903-0050 and we'll help you locate it.
Yes! We offer custom-mixed aerosol spray cans for GM, Ford, Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep, Toyota, Lexus, and Subaru vehicles. Select your make, enter your paint code, and choose your format at checkout — or call us directly for help.
TECHNICAL
1K (one-component) clear coat is ready to spray straight from the can with no mixing required. 2K (two-component) clear coat requires a hardener activator before use and produces a much harder, more durable, professionally finished result. 2K is the industry standard for long-lasting automotive finishes.
These are the mix ratios of clear coat to hardener. A 4:1 ratio uses four parts clear coat to one part hardener — a thinner mix used for faster application. A 2:1 ratio uses two parts clear coat to one part hardener — a richer mix for greater depth and gloss. The right choice depends on your spray system and desired finish. Our team can advise you based on your setup.
Body filler (like U-POL Gold or EVERCOAT Z-GRIP) is used for larger repairs — filling dents, smoothing panels, and building up contours. Spot putty (like Yako S600 or EVERCOAT Ever-Glaze) is a finer product used for small surface imperfections like pin holes, sand scratches, and minor low spots before primer. Body filler first, spot putty second.
It depends on your stage. General guide: P80 for heavy material removal and shaping body filler. P150 for smoothing filler. P240 for final filler sanding and primer prep. P320 for sanding primer. P400 for final finish sanding before paint. We carry all grits from P80 to P400 in our USC Gold Pro disc rolls.
